Aaaaargg pc trouble

my cpu waterblock is broken. little has leaked over my gpu [4870x2] i cleaned it with special stuff.
still dont know if it still will work. i have to wait till a new cpu cooler.
im using my oldest pc now. ill keep you posted

Well i hope that it will work and you wont have to buy anew card

fuck, thats not good, I had a similar situation with my old comp, and it totally destroyed some components, like the gfx-card and RAM-memories.

Hopefully your awesome 2x4870 will last =)

just ordered the 4870x2 atomic edition. it has a cpublock aswell
and its a closed lcs. the temps will not be so low as my old lcs. but it will be alot safer
it set me back 700 euro i spend 30 euro for fast delivery

it was the cpu waterblock that cracked for some reason. its the only thing i didnt replace ????
the last time i installed that cpu block was like ages ago. the only thing i can think of is temperature changes. i was away for the weekend. and i left my window open. so my room temp was about 10 degrees i think when my pc was off for 3 days. it just dripped a bit on my gpu. luckely i was watching a movie. a looked because my screen went blanc. i thought it was standby or somthing like that. till i opened my pc. if i havent checked. it would be even more then my gpu.

but the bad part is i only cared about that gpu. a mainboard or cpu arent expencive
the fucking gpu is. 1 little leak set me back 700 euro. so if somebody has a 4870x2 and lcs
i still have the awesome waterblock for it. i got it only a few weeks ago its aquagratix

im working on my pc for the last 2 days. so im kinda not in the mood.
my new gpu will arrive monday. it cost alot but im not willing to take the risk anymore.
the standard 4870x2 still cost +400 the coolblock i bought for it +120 my lcs system +200
i will prob use my old lcs in one of my old pc's

i bought the 4870x2 atomic edition +650 with the fast shipping and some thermal paste it cost 700 euro. it seems alot but it has integrated watercooling for gpu and the cpu. it will not cool as well as my precious lcs system but it is alot safer. and im not taking any risks again.

i was thinking of replacing my pump+reservoir and cpublock and buying a stock 4870x2 again that would cost me around 600 euro because i already have my 2 radiators. so i start thinking about pro and cons between the 2

4870x2 atomic
pro=
less space needed. only 1x120 radiator and pump is on the cpublock
safe. its the safest lcs you can have. it doesnt need refills and it sealed
the card is even a bit faster than the 4870x2 stock 800mhz instaid of 750mhz
less tubing in my case
i can buy a smaller case now. and no modding to the case needed

cons=
cost alot
only 1x120 radiator so it will run a bit hotter than my old lcs
you cant add stuff on the lcs because its a closed lcs

stock 4870x2+new cpublock+pump and radiator
pro=
cheaper because i have already the tubing and radiators and a gpu watercoolingblock for the 4870x2
extreme low temps
you can keep modding the lcs

cons=
apparently leaks are possible
it takes alot of place in my case
